This is something everyone does at some point, whether it is in your personal or professional life. Yet it is a harmful habit that can impede your development.  

It can prevent success and action and therefore hold you back from achieving your goals and developing within your career.  

But why do we do it? 

Some of the key reasons include:  

  • Boredom  
  • Putting off unpleasant tasks 
  • No deadlines 
  • Things are uncomfortable or difficult  
  • You are being forced to make tough decisions 

Our animal instincts tell us not to do unpleasant things. 

This is when you need to use your executive brain to override it.
