HOW CAN YOU GET THE ANSWERS YOU NEED?
Though you may have a hunch about your current reality, you need to get some hard data to support or disprove your view. Operational, systems or processing issues are usually quantifiable and data is generally readily available. Some of the most difficult problems to solve are behavioural, cultural or relationship. These problems are often subjective so gathering data is difficult.
You could request a 360-degree feedback, a behavioural profiling tool, or take a look at your KPIs, engagement scores or whatever else you use to measure performance. If you haven’t got the right data, start looking for it, perhaps doing some interviews, run some focus groups or simply observe how your business is working - objectively.
Once you have gathered the data, analyse it and then be build the story behind the numbers. Start digging deeper and getting more curious. These 3 tools are a practical way to start asking the right questions. You can use them yourself if you want to get started on data collection.
