Evaluate and recognise your over-performers/shining stars.

Make more of an effort to try and delegate authority and responsibility to those who seek it.

If you are not happy with the progress that has been made with a task you have delegated don’t take it back, help coach your team in ways to improve.

Provide support and guidance to those who might need additional support or are not feeling as comfortable/confident with a task.

Take interest in the task you have delegated without seeming overbearing or intrusive. Offer support where it is needed and offer occasional check-ins.

Set goals and expectations before your team get started on a task. This helps to give direction and make sure the true aim is met.

Try and delegate to just one person, this helps stop any blurred mines and encourages accountability to motivate them.

Using the skill will model you can make sure you are choosing the right person to assign a task too. Make sure the team member wants the responsibility and feels supported in starting on a task they might not be familiar with.

Stay patient and try not to just take over.
