I is for Influence

Welcome Tigger into the world. The i style personality is bouncy, enthusiastic, optimistic and seem happy and upbeat. They love bright shiny new things and follow the excitement of new ideas and projects. Just as they are influential, they are easily influenced by positivity.

They seek approval and like to be popular and well liked. They are open and expressive and you can usually see if they are excited or passionate, or equally bored or uninspired. Not only will they tell you, their body language will give it away.

They love giving and receiving praise. Often impromptu, to others this praise can appear insincere and without substance. They really mean it, because they just want everyone to feel happy and appreciated. You see, they love working with people.

The I style happily engages debates and brainstorming sessions as they like to communicate verbally, in person and bounce ideas around the room. This can feel quite exhausting to those who prefer calmer, more reflective environments. And because I like to make decisions quickly, often based on gut feeling, act first-think later, some might find them lacking objectivity and rationale.

Fears

i Styles just want to be loved. They fear rejection and do what they can to be involved and bring people together. When they have been left out of a meeting, or feel like they are the last to know about something, they become insecure and even hurt.

They also fear not being heard. They generally have an opinion on everything and need to express themselves. If you are managing an i, make sure you give them an ear and really listen. If they feel like they aren't being consulted or heard then they can become demotivated and negative. This can look like gossip, and even become toxic.

Their greatest fear is being stuck, insignificant and ignored.

iD styles

People with the iD style tend to prioritise action and they are fast paced. They are happy to make quick decisions on the fly and don’t really care for fixed plans. They are all about living in the moment, moving ahead and working things out as they go along. This means that they can be frustrated when things aren’t moving at pace and become bored of details and blocks and barriers.

They can be impulsive and outspoken when they are passionate. This can result in upsetting others feelings or not being empathetic to others. Even though they love to be heard, often they forget to listen. They love variety and to creatively find solutions. Anything that  is slow, long-term or requires deep-diving into data can drain them mentally and emotionally.

iS styles

The iS style is highly collaborative and the ultimate team player. They love to work in teams and take time to include others in work projects and activities. They value friendship and tend to be the instigator of birthday celebrations, secret Santa and will probably volunteer to be the new team members buddy.

They are positive, enthusiastic and light-hearted. They always see the good in others, even though people may let them down and when they do they feel the ultimate betrayal. They are the first to offer support, encouragement and because of their happy-go-lucky character, often people forget that they need it too.

The ultimate people pleaser, they hate to say no, even when they are already over burdened. Because they hate pressuring others, they often fail to delegate and will carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. They also avoid conflict and want everyone to just get along, not realising that some conflict is good.
