The descriptions on the inner, grey circle (taken from 5 behaviours of a cohesive team report) illustrate what healthy behaviours during conflict might look like. The descriptions in red illustrate unhealthy behaviours related. They are group together to reflect the conflict preferences of each of the DiSC styles.

In a conflict situation, a dominant style might speak up about problems, addressing issues head on and sticking to facts. However, they can easily focus on "winning" due to their competitive nature and become aggressive, stubborn or look to even the score. Steady people on the other hand value harmony and find conflict very uncomfortable. When they engage, they ask questions and listen to understand others views, show empathy and remain calm. Inside they may feel uncomfortable, but they remain composed. However, under stress they may cave in to end the conflict or appease rather than speaking up for themselves.
By understanding each others conflict responses, members can notice when others are demonstrating unhealthy behaviours and name it so they can all step into productive behaviours. Sharing each others strengths and weaknesses also builds trust further between members.
Take the time to understand your team members conflict responses, and as a leader, create a space where everyone feels safe to engage, speak up and participate. If everyone is agreeing with you all of the time, you know you have an issue.
