By now, you should have gained total clarity on where you are now, where you are heading, and what is going to stop you getting there. Once you can see the wood for the trees, you can create a robust strategy and prioritise effectively.

Visioning

You need to remain open and explore possibilities and resist the need to seek closure and rush into fix mode. You need to be bold and challenge the status quo. You need to test assumptions, stretch, and gain insight from others.

Alignment

Be clear on what you want to know and how you want to gain the information. Create structured messages and create safety so people speak freely. Then open dialogue. Allow others to challenge, ask questions, and remain receptive. Don't challenge back, become defensive or shut people down. Then enthuse, inspire and give hope.

Execution

Make the vision a reality by creating momentum and energy. Set plans, give structure and create a compelling strategy. Create the monitoring mechanism so you gain feedback on performance against the vision and praise and recognise performance when it's due.
