As mentioned throughout this course, people respond to conflict differently and react differently when they are in it. Sometimes these responses can have more of a negative effect on the team, than positive. This is known as destructive conflict.
Conflict is normally seen with negative connotations and makes you think of tensions, negative emotions and defensive team members. As humans it is our instinct to stand up for ourselves and ‘fight or flight’ in a situation of conflict.
Therefore, it is important you recognise when you are showing these negative, destructive behaviours when you are in conflict.
